    He shocked audience members late in the first season when it was revealed he was a double agent from the fascistic organization Hydra, a major antagonist featured in the Captain America movies.

    He continued in the role through season three, before being recast as the Inhuman supervillain Hive.

    Dalton returned to play Ward for a recurring arc on season four, and four a guest role in season five.

    ABC renewed the series for a seventh and final season, set to air sometime in mid-2020.
